Movies and TV series reviews and sometimes Music and Mexican Soaps appear too.!!!
You know to convince me to watch a show is pretty easy, give actors I like, writers that I have watched their stuff and producers that I've been following for a while, if it has all is more than obvious that I will watch the show, now what makes me keep watching is different, is all about characters, give me one, only one that I can either identify with or just feel entertained
Examples: DollHouse= Joss Whndon + Eliza Dushku, Brothers & Sisters = Greg Berlanti + EmilyVanCamp + Ron Rifkin,Patricia Wettig, No Ordinary Family is a whole pack = Greg Berlanti + Ali Adler + Julie Benz + Kay Panabaker + Michael Chiklis = Im watching.
The great thing about twitter is that you became aware of new projects through direct channels, sometimes form the actors involved in the project or even from the producers, creators and writers, it depends how much they use it.
And NOF news just bombarded my twitter from everywhere possible, Chuck fans that liked Adlers writing and were curious, to Julie Benz excitement about her new acting job after Dexter to Ali Adler herself, so its great way to become a fan of a show before even started.
Till now gotta say it reminds me quite a lot "The Incredibles" , you know the Disney animated movie, except that they receive their powers by a plane accident, where ?where? in Brazil ( bugh Ya), and actually like their powers and want to make use of them while at the same time being quite cautious. While "The Incredibles" had always had their powers and were trying to escape from them till they realized they had to put their gift in good use (if I remembered right the plot of the movie).
Anyway some things that I liked right way, being a Buffy/Angel fan, we get to see more of Julie Benz work, and her under the sun (come on she didn't last much as human in Angel) and Kay Panabaker that used to be the girl on the hidden part in Wolfram and Hart, working together, so that was pretty cool, also that both are in lighter roles.
Julie plays Steph, a supermom even without her powers, but now that she has super speedy she gets more free time = more time for family while she can focus enough in her work as an important scientist and research her new abilities. If you are a girl will completely envy her power, cuz with super speed comes super metabolism = she can eat as much as she wants and don't gain weight, dreamy han?
Jim (Michael Chiklis) is the emotional side of the parenthood, the ones the kids confided to, is the one that used to be stuck in a non satisfying job as a drawer at the police station that now with his new tricks decided to pair up with his pal George and become a crime fighter, well he is trying to ,till now a lot of top of buildings jump (aterrizando) in wrong manners, down side less time to family.
Daphne (Pananbaker) is the typical 16 years old teenager, with her ages problems and insecurities, that with her new hability gets to reads other peoples mind. In the beginning she was having some trouble adjusting, but now everything seems to be settling down, too bad, as soon as she learns to control her powers ,she learns her boyfriend was cheating, or wait thats actually good right?!!!
JJ(Jimmy Bennett) the poor grades kinda of teen, felt a loser his whole life for his poor grades, so he couldn't be more happy to get a super brain and start to get A's, Too bad the change was too drastically that nobody believed and he had to cover it up a bit ,so the teachers and his parent's wouldn't suspect= getting B - , yep just Daphne knows, till now, as brothers and sisters they are using it as leverage, let's see how long it takes so Steph and Jim find out.
The series has a good proposal, in a mix of different situations, till now is quite enjoyable and not too light ,cuz we do have the villains that are introduced from the 1st episode on, so I hope they play their cards right so we get to see more of this No Ordinary Family, as tweeps like to say Tuesdays aren't Ordinary anymore, catch it on ABC Tuesdays, and follow @juliebenz and @aliadler on twitter. ;)
Im the kinda of person that likes to have a very light show to turn on to when I need some spirit lift up, so I choose a couple of Kids/teens show to follow. This year I chose 2 Isa TKM/+ and now Suena Conmigo that are actually soaps. But have watched Phill of the Future, Hanna Montana, but my favorite of all times is Lizzie McGuire.
Sueña Conmigo is an Argentinian/Mexican co-production by Latin Nickelodeon and Televisa following the same aspects from Nickelodeon most famous shows as Zoey 101, I Carly, Drake & Josh.
So set's are super colorful , cute teens, teens troubles and romantic coupling, and a super dose of comedy + music. See music is a very important element in Suena Conmigo, since the show revolves around a TV reality in the style of American idol.
Clara played by Eiza Gonzales ( Lola Erase Una Vez / Mujeres Asesinas) a supposedly rich girl assumed to have the perfect life, except her daddy is always more worried about his business than about his daughter, her mom is a successful singer in Mexico = is never around, and the only one she can rely on is her cousin Rafael, a music teacher at her school. Clara has also the same passion as her mother, music, her dream is to be a well known singer and live from what she loves, but her father has a different plans for her. So when Soy Tu Superstar (the Tv reality show) is announced she wants to sign straight away, except her father forbids her, so she creates Roxy Pop, so she can participate of the show and have no problems with her father.
On the other side of the plot we have Luca, w
ho is passionated about his guitar and band, music is his life and he would love to live of it, however he still has to finish High School, and help his bigger sister Teresa with Flor, who is his little sister. Lucas problems are more to do with his behavior at school than with what his parents let him do or not, since they aren't around. Ow and there is Marcia his annoying controlling freak girlfriend.
Its no surprised that Luca and Clara fates end up crossing, and firstly they fall in love at the first sight then to become a hate/love after of a misunderstanding. While Clara/Roxy is in favor of the reality show Luca despises it completely, cuz he doesn't see as true music, however he does fall for Roxy without knowing that in reality she is Clara which he always judges wrongly, wanna see what happens next? Check it out on Nickelodeon everyday 6pm Méx y Chi / 7pm Arg y Col
7:30pm Ven, or like me on youtube.
Also check Eiza Gonzales twitter @eizamusica , she tweets a lot and is super sweet with her fans, and her music is super cool, bellow is her performing live Perdiendolo Todo.
I always welcome Morgan's insights in Chuck&Sarah relationship, 1st because is funny and 2nd because shows how much he cares about his friend and most of the time he is right ,in the end he cares about Chuck relationship with Sarah, almost as much as Chuck does. I'm Looking forward to see how Chuck is gonna snoopy Morgan relationship with Alex.
Another awesome moment, is how cool is to see Morgan, Alex and Casey awkward scene, when Casey realizes his daughter has been talking to Morgan and how excited she is. Adore Casey's expression. Something we learned about Casey : don't leave the man handicapped cuz he will almost die of boredom and shot himself.
Big Mike plays a nice daddy figure given advices to Morgan, and as weird as it seems he was right and I believe all Chuck fans were happy with Morgan decision concerning Alex.
Another thing is that I love the Generalissimo, I think it is so funny the way Armand Asante plays his character, because he is initially presented as this strict dictator that is trying to make peace with the USA, but he plays the character in a lovable way ,a mix of funny with inadequate passion, specially when Ellie is around, it cracks me up.
What I think that makes the episode special is that we get to see more Awesome and Ellie outside their house/garden, cuz they seem to be always aside of what is actually going on (ok for obvious reason, but well), so I'm pretty sure everybody enjoys to see them interacting with more characters and with fancy clothes. Awesome as super daddy is just well, awesome, and Ellie is so straight forward with him about him overacting over baby concerns and all. Differently from Chuck&Sarah they are "communicators all stars" as Chuck says, for me it's nice the game the writers do with them, so we as viewers have always the comparisons between both couples and at the same time we see their dynamic from different perspectives.
Anyway Marble Awesome was just genius and proportionated some very funny scenes and lines ,like : "Way to go marble me".
Yept, Chuck&Sarah are crappy communicator, but Chuck used to be pretty good in that in the 1st 2 seasons, but then when Sarah got on board completely, things became harder to say, but I always enjoy watching Chuck trying to get more in touch with Sarah emotional side, even when is extremely awkward for both of them, but the nice outcome is that in the end she always listens, and we have a very sweet/delicate scene with her declaring her love for him while he sleeps, adding the Yes = I do.
But before I forget, the indirect conversation that solves Generalissimo problems with his wife via Chuck & Sarah it was very The Three Words style, but well taking out the cave bit, which I thought ,was a very comical addition to the speech.
Now let me be very girly and talk about clothes.Let's starts by saying that I loved to see Zach in a white suit (so charming and dapper)and the new haircut just adds to that. However somehow they always give more attention to Sarah Lancaster look when they need to dress her up then to Yvonne, might be because she is almost always in jeans+blouse, while we see Yvonne in those awesome dresses. Just wondering.
However who the hell chose those bikinis, seriously they were the ugliest bikinis I have ever seen in my life, Im sure the guys appreciated Yvonne in them, but seriously they were weird, but then again Im used to brazilian happy colorful patterns bikinis, so.
Anyway don't forget in a few minutes Chuck xs The Couch Lock, 8/7c on NBC.
Who am I kidding, I loved Chuck x The Cubic Z, the downside is that I got too attached = kinda love everything in it too much.
The director of the episode kept teasing the fans via twitter during the entire week, good tease cuz the episode had some awesome sequences, loved the fight sequences an
d the gun shooting on the top of the building, there were some really good quotes between the characters, and the guest starts were brilliant, even more brilliant because Heather Chandler ( Nicole Richie ) and Hugo Panzer ("Stone Cold" Steve Austin) had already been on the show so they had this background story with Sarah and Chuck, which add's the comic/poking element that the episode needed, and is always nice to see familiar faces around=having guest starts repeating their role on the show.
We also had Stacy Keibler as Greta, which till now was from far the best Greta, specially cuz she got to kick in high hills. In terms of guest stars acting it was a blast , cuz Karolína Kurková acting was really bad on the previous episode. Anyway the previous episode had some really nice Chuck&Sarah scenes, but the episode was a bit off, and as I didn't find
the missing element no comments.
Back to the Cubic Z, is always nice to see how Casey and Sarah communicate their feelings, like to see their interactions, specially now that Casey got a bit left out. Morgan being all
responsable with the release of the game, damn the boy is growing up. We finally had Big Mike's return, ok that he came back 1st to propose Morgan's mom but he is back to The Buy More \o/, now the whole crew is back, which is pretty cool. But the best is how in sync everything was, and then to the big finish with the ring scene that is just so wow,aw oh, and cut : Arghhhhhhhhh, but well it was a cute chat with unexpected ring falling, and hello awkward scene, let's watch the result today 8/7c on NBC ( USA). Good news to people in UK this week LivingTV starts to air Chuck x The Anniversary at 10pm on Thursdays \o/, well I will have to battle for the remote on the common room, but well.!!! Bellow the trailer for "Chuck Versus the Coup d'Etat" :

It was one of the 1st series to premiere, and it premiered in big style cuz it was all everybody seemed to talk on twitter and series columns. The opening episode it was good, the first 15 min's were in super speed but then it lost the impact during the episode and then got it back in the last 3 final minutes of it. I am not saying that wasn't good, just wasn't as good as people made it seem.
Anyway, last season I watched the show as a backup series, you know when you have nothing to watch so you pick something new to try. However this season is proving itself so Im actually curious to watch whats gonna happen, specially with the dopplegang thing, Elena/Katherine, Nina Dobrev is playing those two in such a different way, however it reminds me Willow in Buffy - Doppelgangland, but well she was funny, while Elena/Katherine are quite dramatic, but well, the fact is I like that they didn't make her as Bella at all, she has attitude.
Paul Wesley who plays Stefan, finally found a way to play his character with no resemblance to Edward moody tortured vampire and giving a more human/stronger side to it.Ian Somerhalder rocks as Damon , its so fun to watch him being such an ass while Stefan is the caring one, and it just gets better every time we see Elena and Katherine in the same episode, you can see him getting mushy and then really angry, a nice contrast to watch.
Now we have an additional vampire, Caroline ,Candice Accola, whom Katherine sires in the 1st episode, knowing that she had Damon blood on her, is nice to see Caroline playing a bigger part in Elena's world, cuz she was always the friend outside the vampires truth, considering that Bonnie is a witch and all.
We have characters growth, a nice back story being brought in, it looks like they are heading to a nice arch for the season, and we also have wolves. Wolves seem to be the new sensation around the vampire related stuff, anyway watch the preview for the next episode bellow.
What I like the most in Chuck xs The Anniversary is that you can see how the relationships evolved since the first season, when we had Sarah and Casey suspecting of each other to depending and counting on each other, as to Casey hating to work with Chuck ,till it reaches a point that he actually misses Chuck on the mission and think of him as a great spy . For me when it comes to characters or plot, I know the plot is the construction ,but I always prefer when the characters are well explored, because at the end I stick to a series because I care for the characters journey rather then whats going on, and the good thing about Chuck is that the writers can really balance it well, making good plots with very good characters development. One example of the opposite is OTH nowadays, I still watch because of the characters but gotta confess that plot wise, is really weak and lacks in creativity it kinda repeats itself over and over.
The episode has a simple story line but sets up real well what this season is gonna be about, Chuck search for his mother and his spy team helping him, love the scene when he tells the truth to Sarah and Casey and they don't even think twice to answer yes.
Chuck & Sarah scenes are adorable, and incredibly funny/cute, the sexting was really well played in the episode, specially with Morgan being the one sending the sms's. I thought it is was cute that The Anniversary in question referred to their relationship 6/9 moths anniversary, and showed well how much they care for each other. So sweet after so much waiting.
Chuck & Morgan as a team , is really great their interaction is really nice to watch, and the map thing in Indiana Jones style, was so cute, and the Michael Carmichael was so them.
Linda Hamilton as Chuck's mother, appears very little in the episode but is the kind oaf character that with few words can really nail a scene, specially the final one " Marco: Pls, I have a family . Linda: So do I! " it was those kinda of impact scenes, cuz then she shows that she actually cared for her family, something that is new to Chuck's plot.
Anyway the episode was very good to start a season, nothing better that laying the ground properly, specially with General Beckman as the new Buy More manager, forcing Chuck to return to his old job = NerdHerd/Spy, as he refuses hello tunnel to Castel, which was AWESOME.
Ellie appeared very quickly but with the news everybody already knew ,her and Awesome are expecting a little awesome, what made Chuck not tell her the truth, kinda curious to see when she finds out about him being a spy again.
So Next Monday Chuck xs The Suitcase, don't forget to watch live if you are from USA on NBC, 8/7c.
