Once Upon a time ...there was snow white trapped in time and prince charming was in coma...

Ok so a couple of episodes rolled in some of my A list series are already in hiatus and sadly enough will only come back in January, while others will stick around for a couple of rounds more like " Once Upon A Time" that had a late start in the fall season.

Once Upon A Time has a new take on the classic farytales with a blend of real world thanks to a curse made by the Evil Queen, making all the classic farytales that we know forget who they were and be forced to leave in the real world without happy endings , now guess who is the only hope. ??? Prince Charming and Snow White 28 years old daughter , ow yes I know, did they have a kid? In this classy series yes , and she is the saviour bringing back time to Storybrook and making the time roll!

At this moment the serie is at episode 4, and we were introduced to some of the main character and some alternate stories to the classics were presented as the last one about Cinderella having her fairy godmother getting killed by Rumpelstiltskin and pregnant of a runaway prince!!!

A totally brave choice in my opinion taking the risk to update the stories with our reality!
It's amazing how much they accomplished in terms of technical aspects, each episode has an enormous number o special effects and an amazing use of the green screen ( come on let's consider the craziness of building actual sets for each castle and ballroom) and I would be lying if I said the first time I saw the trailer I didn't think it was a movie, it looks quite a bit like a movie and the stories arcs and references to the farytales on the real world are quite strong and nice to pick up !!!

I don't even have to go into the actors land, cos they have an amazing cast just to name few Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison, the adorable Jared Gilmore, Robert Carlyle, Lana Parrilla... Once Upon A Time airs on Sundays 8/7c on ABC.

Doppelgängers Season

So first was Katherine who we heard an entire season about ,till she decide to show up and mess Mystic Falls around, then it was Bolivia who exchanged verses and passed by the original Olivia, now we have two twins exchanging lives, Bridget and Siobhan, and hey we have two more even If I don't watch the Lying Game I know enough to tell that Emma and Sutton are twins.

Now making my point, is Doppelgänger season and we all know it. Ok maybe in some cases not in the complete sense of the word, but let's just stick to the simple sense of the word, that being, a double or a look-alike of a person.

So when the Doppelgänger landed at the Vampire Diaries, it was just Elena, learning that Katherine ,the love of Salvatore's life looked just like her, and by some unexplained reason the girls were linked, then to Katherine be actually alive ( it's vampire world here, go for the 100's of years), and that she back to mess with everybody's life, but not before trying to pass by Elena and succeeding a couple of times, she isn't gone for good, but the trick remains straight hair = Elena, curly=Katherine, except when Katherine is trying her charms on the Salvatore brothers.

Then Fringe just pushed the boundaries , and hey parallel worlds where the same people that lived in the normal world had different choices over there, and entire cast with double characters Olivia -Bolivia, Walter- Walternate… ow except Peter (remember 1st Peter died), till they exchange Olivias between verses, and then is Doppelgänger season cos she had everybody fooled for quite a long time, while original Olivia was stuck over there. Now everybody is back to their verses and normal hair colors, but aware of their doubles and even working together.

Now we have estranged sisters coming together , in double doses, honestly CW (Ringer) and Abc family (The Lying Game) launching series with very similar ideas at the same time but clearly to different audiences (so weird) . Ok will focus on "Ringer" that Im actually watching.

Well at this point we have more information about Bridget than about Siobhan, making the audience have more empathy for Bridget.

Summing up the story ,basically both sisters get in touch after a long time without talking to each other, an accident happens and Bridget takes Siobhan life, believing that she is dead. While Siobhan goes to Paris and who knows what are her plans, anyway Doppelgänger is in place, and no super different hair to help here this time is about places ,at least for now, USA = Bridget, Paris= Siobhan.

So not the first time Doppelgängers appear in series, and is extremely common in Mexican soap operas (Maria del Barrio, Usurpadora…) in Buffy The Vampire Slayer they appeared quite a few times, Willow and Vamp Willow in Doppelgangland is a classic one, but then we had a Xander episode too, and even a Buffy Bot, well but that was a robot so it doesn't count.

Anyway Doppelgängers have been around for a long time, they tend to cause quite a mess when they appear, as an audience I love to see the actors in question playing a different character in the same series, it must be a challenge, but Im under the impression they love.

I know nowadays it must be easier in terms of production nonetheless still tricky every time both characters are in the same scene.

So who is you favorite Doppelgänger?

Thursday combo!!!

So it's Thursday. This week passed so fast, anyway quick one on my Thursday picks ;)

The Big Bang Theory - I confess i took a while to start watching this series, but when I did, couldn't let go, those nerds/geeks are absolutely hilarious, with their experiments and crisis, specially when you put their relationships in the spotlight.

By the end of last season we could expect their circle of friends to be a little estranged, but by the end of this season first episode, Penny and Raj were only friends again so all the others.

Who can help but to laugh when Sheldon freaks about a chair that Penny got from the trash because he thinks is infested with bugs, and guess what?! In the end he is right, just so the guys end up taking said chair from the trash to his apartment.

The Vampire Diaries - It amazes me how much the series changed from the first couple of episodes in the 1st season, to what is now. The characters developed a lot, the stories arcs are concrete and really interesting, the blends of the mythologies make sense, and not just that ,create an intriguing mystery.

I confess I like the idea of having Stephan away of Elena so she becomes closer do Damon, and loved that Stephan turning off his feelings so he could follow Klaus was completely different from when Angel lost his soul in Buffy ,and Angelus was back.

On top of all of that, I really enjoy Caroline's arc with her parents dealing with finding out she became a vampire, taking out the vampire fight, it was quite human, like a fight that you can imagine any teenager having with her parents when she did something they didn't approve. Also liked Tyler becoming nicer as he finds out he is a werewolf, and Im a bit curious to know what part will Katherine play this season. And hey Stephan diary appeared again!!!

Grey's Anatomy - For sure is not the show it used to be,

but I still have hopes it get's better and make the characters less miserable, last week , hum well they were a bit less annoying. Let's see how the season unfolds. Anyway we always have Mc Dreamy, for this season at least!!

It was Wednesday and I forgot to post ;) Revenge

Revenge - I confess I had a hard time picturing sweet Amy (Everwood) or even dubious and then nice Rebecca (Brothers&Sisters) playing such a revengeful Amanda, oppsie my mistake Emily Thorne, but Emily VanCamp is doing it pretty well, and let me add with a lot of grace. The title for the series is pretty straight forward , it's about revenge, what we still don't know exactly what was the cause for her fathers ruin, but we do know Emily will bring down one by one that helped ruin her fathers and her life.

This week episode was full of revenge as expected and as we could see that Emily is not afraid to spend as much money as needed to get what she wants, and once again Victoria didn't get her way, but we also got to see Emily's Amanda side a bit, well every time she is with Jack and Sammy (smart dog) she goes back to her roots and it's the only time when she is not plotting.

However I can't figure out what happened to Jack so he would attack Daniel on the pilot Engagement Party. I wonder??

Tuesday pick's

So following yesterday theme, here are some overviews about series aired on Tuesday, well the ones I watch at least ;)

Glee - I couldn't be happier by the "coming back to it's roots" , cos I love the musical performances but I was missing the heart on the series, and nothing better than character development and arcs for it. This is exactly what they are hoping to deliver this season, with new additions such Marti Noxon and Ali Adler to the creative staff I have no doubts they will succeed.

The season already started well, explaining why some character wouldn't appear anymore, adding others, bringing old arcs back ( Quinn's Baby, Rachel's Mom) and putting Rachel and Kurt in my favorite scene by the duo, both crying inside a car when they realize that there are performers better than them.

For this week, it seems we are going to have the best episode ever with an awesome performance by Heather Morris, I can't wait.

New Girl - Another new series, however this one I really didn't know much about it, except Zooey

Deschanel was the big name on it, however it's on just after Glee, which made me stay tuned. Glad I did, it's funny , cute and light.

A girl brakes up with her boyfriend and moves in with 3 guys she never met, and well then you have to watch to see in which kinda of situations they end up. Cool thing Max Greenfield (Veronica Mars) and Jake M. Johnson (No Strings Attached ) are in it too. =)

Ringer - It didn't really need much to convince me to watch, come on Sarah Michelle Gellar playing two twin sisters, with a lot of mystery and unresolved issues. Ok have I mention SMG back to TV thing, cos I think that was pretty much enough to convince any Buffy fan as me to give the new show a try.

So the pilot was a bit confusing, a lot to explain in a short time, but I think the major points were covered and well to understand both sisters I believe I/ we have to stick around to understand their choices better. Anyway it's for sure intriguing.

New Seasons/ It's Monday

Ok so most of the new seasons started already, unfortunately no Chuck YET, so I thought I should take this blog out of its misery and post something. So bellow you will find quick reviews/opinions of some of the series Im watching at the moment: Castle, Gossip Girl, Hart Of Dixie, Glee, New Girl, Ringer,Revenge, The Big Bang Theory, The Vampire Diaries. Grey's Anatomy and Fringe.

Today let's stick to the Monday ones ;)

Castle - ok we all knew that Beckett wouldn't die (come on leading lady), so that was no surprise, but what we didn't know was how she would react and come back after Castle " I Love you" , clearly she decided to go with the classic "I don't remember anything that happened during the shooting", but by the end we know that she remembers everything and doesn't know what to do, so... the pretending and hello therapy.

On the second episode , a kinda of funny comic book inspired episode, where Kate and Castle get to be a bit more comfortable around their new boss (ok not really, but learning how she rolls), but deliver a nice chemistry while resolving the murder in question, and seeing themselves kinda of represented in the reporter trying to protect the super heroine he loves.

Let's not forget that Castle is not dealing so well with the idea of Alexis to leave early to Stanford, and we can always count on Martha for great laughs .

Gossip Girl - honestly is just the same old same, Serena does well in something she

didn't expect, Dan is a train wreck because of a girl ( surprisingly is not Serena this time, it seems to be Blair, weird?right?!). Blair, well is plotting and seems to be having one of her many fairy tales. Chuck decided to go kinda reckless, and Nate, ow well he always bored me. I have no idea why, but for some reason I still watch it and still have a tiny very thin hope that it will go back to its roots, or at least finds a good arc for this season.

Hart Of Dixie - New series starring Rachel Bilson as Zoe Hart a very determined new doctor from New York, who has her plans derailed and end up in a small city at the South with half of a practice given to her by a mysterious men, who by the end is reveled as her father. I absolutely loved the pilot, thought it was completely adorable and had a lot of heart, some funny moments that you can always count when you put someone from a big city in a small town and a touch of Everwood, which I really miss.

"Chuck vs The Cliffhanger"

ok so now that the buzz has passed and I watched, well I lost the count of how many times I watched "Chuck vs The Cliffhanger", writing time.

The thing is, writing a season finale without knowing if the series is going to get renewed must be quite tricky, specially if has a loyal fan base as Chuck has, you need to make an ending that if by unfortunate reasons you get canceled you won't leave the fans disappointed and if you are renewed you still give them something to cling till the series return in September.

Sure if you write for TV eventually, I imagine, this is a requirement and must get easier with time, but I still find quite challenging, and we do see many not so lucky series leaving our screens without a proper ending because whoever wrote had the good faith that they would probably last one more season or simply wouldn't be cancelled just yet, or writes a complete rushed pile of events that if the series hadn't been canceled we just know wouldn't happen that soon.

Thanks to NBC and Chuck fans campaigns this didn't happen to Chuck, I do think S4 finale would have worked pretty well if it was the series finale, ok I would be biting my nails cos I would be so mad that I didn't get to see how Morgan would deal with the Intersect and how Chuck would feel about it!! but lucky things happen to this little show and I won't have to imagine those things, but actually see them on the series 5th and final season. I know bittersweet, right?!!

(*if you don't need a recap, skip to the end of the big block bellow)

Now this is what happened… Sarah became Vivian Volkoff target = she was poisoned by the Norseman, Chuck does everything he can to save her even go against the CIA,but General Beckman does help a bit, Chuck kidnaps Volkoff from the CIA agent Clyde Decker that even makes Casey go pale, and we know Casey doesn't go pale easily, little problem with the plan was that he assumed he was kidnapping Volkoff, grrrrrr think again, you remember Volkoff was a personality intersect kinda of thing, which means when no intersect , he is back to his original self Hartley Winterbottom , awkward scientist, but that will do, they make an antidote that buys Sarah more time, so while Ellie,Devon and Morgan take care of her, Chuck, Mama B,Casey, Hartley are going to Moscow, but not just yet, they get captured and Chuck has the Intersect suppressed, Clyde ties to turn Casey, but no way he manages to escape and go behind Castle bullet proof doors to rescue the rest of his team and give blank identities to Chuck if everything works out,so he and Sarah can start a new life, Hartley and Chuck go to Moscow, but ex Volkoff not so confident as he used to be and bails on Chuck, which leaves him alone having to be plain honest to Vivian, while that Sarah is not doing so well and did I mention that Devon was just his awesome self and knocked a CIA agent before Morgan could choose between sweep the leg and magnet, anyway back to Moscow Chuck is pleading to Vivian when Hartley walks in, thanks to his extremely helpful employees, so Chuck and Hartley bargain with Vivian, then fly back to Burbank, Clyde not letting Chuck inside the hospital, CAT squad joins Mama B and Casey, to support Chuck, but Clyde focused on the wrong thing and doesn't see the Russians approaching, fight won, Chuck runs till Sarah's room and gives Ellie the new antidote. CUT. While all that happened we had flashbacks of Chuck and Sarah rehearsing their vows together, aren't they sweet but we just see Sarah's vows.CUT. wedding time, oh now wake, oh ho, wedding, tricky sign, a very quick but extremely sweet ceremony that had everybody tearing even Casey, and Chuck vows to Sarah a mix of emotional+funny, just perfect for our spy couple, busy Morgan as he is a sort of minister, best men, then driver, surprise Winterbottom call, awesome wedding gift.CUT. bummed Jeff and Lester, worried Big Mike, because the store was sold, dig deep and Chuck has a little screen encounter with Clyde giving a powerful speech, our unemployed 4 spies meet, Chuck and Sarah tell what they got as a wedding present from Hartley = Volkoff 's fortune, so hello private agency, Buy More as cover and oppssie someone forgot some cool spy shades alone, beard saw, beard used, beard fell and hey guys " I know Kong Fu", yes Morgan just got uploaded with the Intersect .CUT.

(recap finished here)

So basically a lot happened, and I was always of the opinion that I preferred the wedding to happen on the season 5 cos for me it felt rushed to have it on season 4, and by saying that, it doesn't mean I didn't like the wedding, come on it was completely adorable and sweet, just picture perfect for those two and way more conventional that I even expected a Chuck wedding to be, but we ended up with a very fast wedding, we got to see very little, and hey ain't a wedding crazy here, but once you watched those 2 during the entire series, you kinda want them to give that super moment more attention, and no flashbacks on top of the few wedding scenes we have. Point made. Best part of Chuck vows :"That our kids are gonna be like little super heroes ,with little capes and stuff like that"

Overall the episode was a great mix, not action packed but high stakes, run against time, funny moments, cool motorcycle, great lines, the value of friendship/family, which for me makes a great Chuck episode and very human, the guy is doing everything he possibly can to save the love of his life, even when he gets ,his best chance to save her, out of him (intersect) , and if you stop and think hey for the first time he was actually in a mission without the Intersect or a safety net and was extremely successful, Chuck became a spy on his own and I honestly hope to see more of that on season 5, and even if they put the intersect back on him, that he has the chance before that to show that he can be a spy just as good with or without the intersect, ok he might need some fight training without the intersect, but hey every spy gets that so is just fair for Chuck to finally get one, and hey its funny scenes guaranteed.

And if you ask me, my favorite scenes of Chuck vs The Cliffhanger = Chuck and Sarah vows rehearsal in PJ's, NightHawk , Russians, so many Russians, Chuck vows and Sarah's vows, she was so honest and open ;)

Things I missed: more General Beckman, I still can't believe she didn't get invited to the wedding, and I can't believe I'll say this but, I missed Jeff and Lester, they had such a big part on Ellie and Devon wedding and none on Chuck and Sarah.

hopefully I'll write soon!! ;)

Nickelodeon Latin America and its new productions

Without a doubt Nickelodeon Latin America its investing well in its productions, as soon as a teen soap finishes, it has another one on the way.

All started with Skimo, La maga y el camino dorado,Isa TKM, followed by its 2nd season with the name Isa TK+, then by Suena Conmigo and now Grachi.

Nickelodeon Latin America seems to be very committed in using local talents as well to forming partnerships with the main broadcasters/production companies of the countries its soaps are being recorded, forming joined productions.

For example Isa TKM was produced by Nickelodeon Latin America and Sony Pictures
Television, and Suena Conmigo by Nickelodeon Latin America, Illusion Studios and Televisa, as it was made in Argentina with some Mexican actors, as its main actress, Eiza Gonzalez.

Suena Conmigo just finished in Mexico, this past Friday, and for almost a month in the other countries Nickelodeon Latin America was showing, as for in Brazil (7pm) it still quite in the beginning. It had a very sweet ending in my opinion, with Clara fulfilling all of her dreams.

Now its time for Grachi that premieres this Monday, 2nd May. (MEX-COL-ARG - 7pm , VEN 7:30pm and CHI 6pm.

And as every Nick production it is packed with music and a very talented young cast. It is worth to check it out!!!

Chuck

As every Chuck fan I am anxious about 2 things. First to finally read that Chuck is renewed for a 5th season, secondly to know whats gonna be Volkoff end game.

By the promo NBC showed this week for the next epi its quite promising and with have the return of Linda Hamilton and Timothy Dalton reprising their roles as Mama B and Volkoff.

I like stand alone episodes, cause usually they give the show more space for its lighter side, but every time we get back to the season arch the stakes are much higher and gives more opportunity for the characters to shine, and come on its Chuck so they always find a way to light it up, even when things in the episode are pretty tense.

The way things were left in the last episode, they are building up for a pretty interesting season finale, with Ellie finally getting into the family business through her fathers work, Devon having to lie to protect Ellie when he is not sure he is doing the right thing, and Chuck completely clueless of what is actually going on with them, on top of all let's not forget the wedding, that they dropped a bit the theme and its gonna be brought back soon enough, and Volkoff , Mama B and Vivian plot.

Im of the opinion that if we get a season 5, I would rather see the wedding there, but as the writers are writing in unsure waters its more likely we see Chuck & Sarah tying the knot this season, and as is Chuck Im prepared to be surprised.

Check out the promo for Monday April 11th, all new Chuck , 8/7 c on NBC.

Fairly Legal

Its the time when most series are in hiatus usually I chose a new series to start watching. This time was Fairly Legal, I had seen the promos for it during White Collar brakes and someone had recommended on twitter, so thought why not? It seemed light and with an interesting theme.

An ex lawyer who decided to become a mediator ( alternative dispute resolution), who enters in questions that can be solved between only the involved ones in the matter without the need of a judge, as Kate (Sarah Shahi) often says its win, win. Which is better than someone lose and the other win as always happens when the case goes to court .

The plot its easy to follow, and the characters are quite likable. Kate is the mediator, who is quite mature to solve others problems but when it comes to her relationship with her stepmother and ex-husband she is quite the opposite.

Leo is her loyal assistant that helps her dig the backstory behind her cases as to avoid her stepmother.

Spencer is her brothers who rather behaves as the wife of his family.

Lauren is her stepmother and also the manager of her fathers company, Reed & Reed, who tries to reach to Kate and become her father business like.

Justin, who is a DA and Kate's ex-husband , is constantly trying to fix things with her, and ends up always helping her with her cases even when she puts the cases in 1st place instead of him.

And what is really funny are her ringtones, that are all Wizard of Oz related, and shows how she sees each of the persons in her life ; Father, Wizard - Lauren,Wicked Witch - Spencer, Scarecrow - Leo, Lion - Justin, Tin Man.

The first season finished with an interesting cliffhanger, basically Kate losing everything, Justin , her job... so now its hope that Fairly Legal gets renewed for a second season and we get to see if Kate becomes as mature in her own life as she is with her cases.

The King's Speech not all that...

It took me flying to Brazil, to actually watch The King's Speech, yes they were showing on the plane, yes thats why I watched, cos otherwise I don't think I would have watched, the film just doesn't call my attention, neither the poster, trailer nor premise.

Don't get me wrong, the film is good, the actors are definitely doing something different form what I had seen them doing previously, but still didn't convince me that it was worth the Oscar for best film.

The entire film is pretty plain and steady, off course its a victory when the King is able to read the speech without major staggering *, and it truly shows the meaning of confidentiality( his coach didn't tell his wife till he had to that he was coaching the King to be) and perseverance, sure all of that are good lessons, but not done in a super hyper enthusiastic mode, which I understand cos it's a British film, and I don't say that as a bad criticism its just that British cinema is more contained, emotions seem to be brought always down, at least its how I sense it.

Some aesthetics of the film framing bothered me, but that is something that probably I was one of the few that actually noticed that part of the film.

But after watching it, I am quite disappointed that "Black Swan" didn't win, it was in my opinion the best , and the only one of the nominees that I watched and left the cinema saying " WOW that was a good movie" , in not just one aspects but many, and that doesn't mean the other nominees weren't good, just means they didn't have the "WOW" and "Marvelled" effect Black Swan had in me,anyway Im just happy that "The Social Network" didn't win , cos then I wouldn't no what to say of the Academy, just that their standers decreased quite a bit over the years.

and the Winner is ....

ok, so my picks and favorites didn't win the Oscars, but I was checking and they did win the Spirit Awards, so Im happy.

Anyway last night Academy Awards presentations in my opinion, it was the most entertaining in years, cos last year presentation I was so bored, and this year it didn't seem that long, neither so boring.

Thought Anne Hathaway did a nice job as presenter, James Franco got a bit shadowed by her, but did ok, and the presenters of each award were with a nice sense of humor, without the necessity of dropping weird and un tasteful jokes ( as they usually do).

My mantra for the night worked in some categories, as it failed completely in others, however I was happy enough that The Social Network did not win for best picture, and the award for best picture definitely convinced me to watch The King's Speech, which ironically enough in a list of best picture mainly formed by depressing/sad films, the winner was one with a lighter subject and full of a wit humor and a sense of achievement ( that was taken from an article), it means there is still hope for happy dramas.

Inception received a good dose of technic awards, and it just broke my heart a bit when won TRON in Sound Editing, which btw was the only nomination TRON received. But the award that truly broke my heart was the one for best Original Song, all the 4 nominated songs were great and I truly liked them, the one I liked the least was the theme for Toy Story 3, and that was the winner, the thing is, that the song just didn't touch my heart as all the others did, and Randy had won before, so that was the bummer of the night for me.

I was really happy with the choices for Lead Actor ( Colin Firth)/Actress (Natalie Portman) and Supporting Actor ( Christian Bale)/Actress ( Melissa Leo), all of them are great actors; but will confess that I gave a huge scream when they announced Natalie Portman, and believe me sorry neighbors ,cos it was 4 sth am in London, but I honestly loved her work in The Black Swan, and am becoming a fan of her acting, specially cos she tends to play very different roles.

Jeff Bridges and Sandra Bullock, did such a nice job introducing the best lead actresses and actors, in a very fun and respectful way, will finish this post with the videos of those 2 amazing actors ,presenting this years Best Lead Actor and Actress .

Enjoy !!!

The Oscars are closer and depressing movies are the main theme

ok, so I don't blog much, Im just bad with keeping this updated, anyway as The Oscars are this Sunday ,it seemed a good enough reason to blog and make my 1st post of the year ( shame on me we are in the end of February and this is my 1st post, moving on).
I spent this week trying to catch up with the best movies nominees that I hadn't watched yet, and most of them were surprisingly depressive, sad stories, about sad events with really good actors and performances, but still sad and depressing.

For 2011 the Best Picture nominees are : The Black Swan, The Fighter,Inception, The Kids Are Alright, The King's Speech, 127 Hours, The Social Network , Toy Story 3, True Grit and Winter's Bone.

I still have to watch The Fighter and The King's Speech, Toy Story 3 will be honest, never liked the 1st, couldn't care less for the 2nd so I decided to ignore the 3rd, one day I might watch, but its an animation that I've never liked, and believe me I tend to like most of the animations I watch.

But out of the 7 I have watched 5 have a quite depressing story/plot , some have an ok ending, but still the journey is sad and tense, seriously can't happier drama movies be nominated?

I know that happy movies don't cause such an impression maybe, but doesn't mean they aren't good.

When I watched The Kid's Are Alright I was amazed by how they made a simple and updated type of family work on screen, will admit that some bits didn't work so well, but overall its a really good, heartfelt film with a different feeling from all of the other nominees, its "The Little Miss Sunshine" of the year, don't think it's gonna win, but Im happy it got nominated even in an unfair competition level, and it's the closest we get of a happy film.

The Black Swan it has a very passionate and director's feeling, I will be
surprised if doesn't win for best direction, but still sad. For me it was easy to relate to the main character in some levels, since I danced ballet for 15 years of my life, however the relation ended when she took the competition to be both swans to a complete other level of obsession and compulsion. However its amazingly played by Natalie Portman and beautifully directed by Darren Aronofsky.

Inception, has a complicated ,twisted and very clever plot, that sometimes its easy to get lost, but I thought it was very well executed and the special effects were WOW, for original screenplay and FX its for sure a strong candidate, but hey don't be fooled the construction for that entire dream land/world comes from grief = sad.

Those 3 movies, were the ones that I actually enjoyed watching from the Best Picture nominees, won't take the credit of the other films, neither from "The Social Network" that I hated, however they were extremely sad and sometimes violent just for the sake of it.

Will take Winter's Bone as an exception of a sad movie that had a strong
family reason for the girls pursuit for her father, when everything she had would be lost if he didn't appear in court, an extremely raw and cruel film. But no 17 years old should go through what she did, and have those responsibilities. John Hawkes , as an addicted uncle that 1st has no interest in helping Ree and then rescuing her, really good act, perfect in my opinion for Actor in Supporting Role.

Well Sunday its close, and then we will know who the winners are, but as I say to some friends lately I cheer for the film I don't want to win. Last year was Avatar, and this year, pls pretty pls NO "The Social Network", if it doesn't win I'll be happy enough, and if any of my choices win in the categories I think they are a perfect fit I'll be over the moon.

For Saturday and Sunday I'll try to catch the movies I'm missing, Fighter, The King's Speech, and maybe Blue Valentine and Rabbit Hole, which btw don't seem to be the most uplifting movies, but well...I can always hope for happier nominees next year, right?
