No Ordinary Family

You know to convince me to watch a show is pretty easy, give actors I like, writers that I have watched their stuff and producers that I've been following for a while, if it has all is more than obvious that I will watch the show, now what makes me keep watching is different, is all about characters, give me one, only one that I can either identify with or just feel entertained

by his/her journey, and Im pretty much gonna watch the show till it ends.

Examples: DollHouse= Joss Whndon + Eliza Dushku, Brothers & Sisters = Greg Berlanti + EmilyVanCamp + Ron Rifkin,Patricia Wettig, No Ordinary Family is a whole pack = Greg Berlanti + Ali Adler + Julie Benz + Kay Panabaker + Michael Chiklis = Im watching.

The great thing about twitter is that you became aware of new projects through direct channels, sometimes form the actors involved in the project or even from the producers, creators and writers, it depends how much they use it.

And NOF news just bombarded my twitter from everywhere possible, Chuck fans that liked Adlers writing and were curious, to Julie Benz excitement about her new acting job after Dexter to Ali Adler herself, so its great way to become a fan of a show before even started.

Till now gotta say it reminds me quite a lot "The Incredibles" , you know the Disney animated movie, except that they receive their powers by a plane accident, where ?where? in Brazil ( bugh Ya), and actually like their powers and want to make use of them while at the same time being quite cautious. While "The Incredibles" had always had their powers and were trying to escape from them till they realized they had to put their gift in good use (if I remembered right the plot of the movie).

Anyway some things that I liked right way, being a Buffy/Angel fan, we get to see more of Julie Benz work, and her under the sun (come on she didn't last much as human in Angel) and Kay Panabaker that used to be the girl on the hidden part in Wolfram and Hart, working together, so that was pretty cool, also that both are in lighter roles.

Julie plays Steph, a supermom even without her powers, but now that she has super speedy she gets more free time = more time for family while she can focus enough in her work as an important scientist and research her new abilities. If you are a girl will completely envy her power, cuz with super speed comes super metabolism = she can eat as much as she wants and don't gain weight, dreamy han?

Jim (Michael Chiklis) is the emotional side of the parenthood, the ones the kids confided to, is the one that used to be stuck in a non satisfying job as a drawer at the police station that now with his new tricks decided to pair up with his pal George and become a crime fighter, well he is trying to ,till now a lot of top of buildings jump (aterrizando) in wrong manners, down side less time to family.

Daphne (Pananbaker) is the typical 16 years old teenager, with her ages problems and insecurities, that with her new hability gets to reads other peoples mind. In the beginning she was having some trouble adjusting, but now everything seems to be settling down, too bad, as soon as she learns to control her powers ,she learns her boyfriend was cheating, or wait thats actually good right?!!!

JJ(Jimmy Bennett) the poor grades kinda of teen, felt a loser his whole life for his poor grades, so he couldn't be more happy to get a super brain and start to get A's, Too bad the change was too drastically that nobody believed and he had to cover it up a bit ,so the teachers and his parent's wouldn't suspect= getting B - , yep just Daphne knows, till now, as brothers and sisters they are using it as leverage, let's see how long it takes so Steph and Jim find out.

The series has a good proposal, in a mix of different situations, till now is quite enjoyable and not too light ,cuz we do have the villains that are introduced from the 1st episode on, so I hope they play their cards right so we get to see more of this No Ordinary Family, as tweeps like to say Tuesdays aren't Ordinary anymore, catch it on ABC Tuesdays, and follow @juliebenz and @aliadler on twitter. ;)
